Frequently Asked Questions
Your carpet is the biggest filter in your home. Just like your air-conditioning filter that filters out airborne pathogens that pass through it, your carpet traps dirt, dust, and other debris floating around your home. Regular vacuuming is a great way to help keep your carpets clean, but it is not enough. Healthy homes require carpet cleaning twice a year.
The carpet in your home is a major component of your living space, so you want your carpets to maintain a pristine appearance for many years. You also want your carpet to be free of dust and odor, to maintain a healthy home. Additionally, your carpet represents a sizable monetary investment, so you will want it to last as long as possible. This routine maintenance will not only help make your home a sanitary place, but it will also significantly lengthen the life of your carpets and keep them looking beautiful longer.
We DO NOT recommend renting a rug cleaning machine because they can harbor germs and infectious bacteria. Additionally, these types of machines can leave your carpet saturated with water and cause MILDEW and even MOLD! Additionally, residue from harsh cleaning products can give your carpet a foul-smelling odor that is difficult to remove.
Allergens frequently circulate throughout the air you breathe in your home. Rugs and upholstery act as filters that trap the particles within. The most common particles that cause allergies are dust, pollen, pet dander, etc. As time goes on, these particles continue to build up. To reduce this problem, we recommend getting your carpets and upholstery steam cleaned twice a year, especially during the allergy seasons. To reduce the amount of allergen build-up, we recommend vacuuming your carpet on a regular basis with a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filtered vacuum.
Every night our body produces about a half-liter of sweat and sheds nearly a gram of skin. Do not forget about dust mites, pet dander, dirt, pet hair, and more. These invisible particles circulate the air you breathe while you sleep. If you have allergies or asthma, breathing this air may worsen your problems. Your mattresses should be steam cleaned at least twice a year.
